What is Confidence ?

Confidence comes from within, it is clear when someone has it and generally we would all like more of it ! It enables you to be contented, healthy and successful in many areas of life.  Confidence can be experienced physically - in how you look and behave, emotionally in how you feel and mentally in how you think and communicate. Confidence comes from a belief in one’s own ability. Some people appear sure of themselves and although most people have some self doubt at times, confidence can be increased through coaching.

When do I need Confidence Coaching ?

- maybe you want to make changes to improve your life such as being slimmer, fitter, healthier, wealthier or more relaxed, but are not confident you can be ?
- maybe you are experiencing the negative effects of change which is damaging your confidence ?
Life is full of change at home and at work, some of which is out of your control. Changes at work may include redundancy, retirement, role changes, or setting up a new business. In your personal lives events such as illness, bereavement, relationship issues, children, divorce and other concerns may involve changes that seem hard to cope with.

What is Confidence Coaching ?

Confidence coaching can help you to see a situation in a new and empowering way. Using a combination of Life coaching and Neuro Linguistic Programming skills (NLP), this type of coaching can increase your belief in yourself and enable you to enjoy a rewarding life. By considering what is important to you and how you see the future you can set goals and move forward, thinking more positively rather than focusing on the negative aspects of your life. Sub-conscious limiting beliefs which currently hold you back can be understood and enhanced with more motivating beliefs. All that is required is an open mind and the desire to improve things.  

How does it work ?

Coaching can occur in person or over the telephone. You do have the resources within yourself to be confident and to achieve the changes and life you desire and deserve. Talking to a coach in a confidential manner can help you to realise this. You will experience being listened to you at a much deeper level than in normal conversation. You will also be asked relevant questions which sometimes challenge you in a safe and trusting way but always get you thinking differently and moving on. This is particularly helpful when you have beliefs that are limiting your potential and which usually you are unaware of. This will help you to understand yourself better, feel less fearful, more supported and in control. This is achieved through a relationship based on respect, honesty and commitment. The coaching sessions would investigate a number of areas and allow you the time and space to consider your options in a positive and fun manner and take action. You set the agenda and focus on what you chose to each session and we keep in mind your overall aim for more confidence. This can help you to become more self aware, flexible and to achieve better results in your life.  

How are NLP techniques beneficial ?

NLP provides an understanding of how you and others think and use language patterns. Our sub-conscious mind absorbs all we hear, see, say and experience but is not able to rationalise this store of information. This leads at times to unhelpful associations or patterns in our thinking. The mind body connection is so powerful that these thoughts then influence your emotions and consequently your actions. Coaching with NLP provides powerful tools and techniques to help you to become more self aware and to change your thinking so improving any unresolved emotions. So rather than just accepting our old patterns as part of life or blaming others for our unpleasant feelings we become more empowered to achieve our dreams and to become the writer, director and star of our own lives.

How are Life Coaching skills beneficial ?

IIn your desire to improve your confidence in one or more areas of life, other areas of life will either support you at difficult times or not.  Life coaching skills from the  I CAN DO life coaching model (Curly Martin) allows a more holistic review of every dimension of your life, including your health and well-being, career, relationships, fun, wealth, contribution and much more. Action brings about results. It is this action which is often lacking when you do not feel confident. Coaching thus closes the gap between thinking about doing something and actually doing it. This process will give you the confidence, direction and motivation that has perhaps been missing from your life.
